Charges laid after North Lyneham shooting

A 24-year-old man has been charged following the shooting of another man in North Lyneham on Friday (21 March).

About 12:20 pm, ACT Policing was called to assist ACT Ambulance Service paramedics in Florey. The paramedics were responding to a man who had received minor wounds from shotgun pellets.

After speaking to the man, police attended a residence in North Lyneham, where it is believed the incident occurred. At about 1:40 pm, a 24-year-old man who was nearby was taken into custody in relation to the shooting.

Search warrant activity was conducted in North Lyneham last night.

The 24-year-old man, of no fixed address, was charged with discharge a firearm – endanger life and assault occasioning actual bodily harm and appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court today.
